Show Review: Animal Collective - 5/15/07

Animal Collective's music hypnotizes. Two minutes into the show, I stopped listening and just stared at them clicking buttons and floating around the stage. But when this song peeked its head out, it was a delightful awakening. I pulled back from the experience and realized they were actually playing songs. This band is weird but they're also pretty awesome.

It's an honor just to be nominated...

Okay, so I haven't posted a video for the past month but I have some really really really awesome news. Well, awesome for me anyways. I wasn't sure it was entirely possible when I submitted my track review for Au Revoir Simone's "Through the Backyards" but apparently music blogs can be nominated for EMMYS!?! (I'm at the bottom of page 15...)

Have any music blogs ever been nominated for an Emmy, let alone WON?! I'll have to look into that, but this could be history in the making.

We'll find out if I win on June 23rd. Do I dare namedrop Gorilla vs. Bear and Marathonpacks in my acceptance speech?
